Estate Planning
Our services range from simple estate planning to sophisticated estate and tax planning matters that involve gifting, charitable giving and private foundations, as well as asset protection, specialized plans for owners of closely held businesses and executives of publicly held corporations, business succession plans, retirement planning and planning for clients with highly specialized needs such as multigenerational planning and international assets and family. We work with our clients to develop estate planning goals for themselves and their families and then assist our client to achieve their goals using tax sensitive and practical methods.

Trust and Estate Administration

Our trust and estate administration practice provides a full range of post mortem tax planning and administration services. We advise our clients on a broad range of estate and trust issues, including tax planning strategies such as generation-skipping tax, maximizing charitable deductions, business succession planning and overall effective wealth transfer strategies. Our team approach to the administration of estates greatly enhances our ability to serve our clients most efficiently and effectively. We also work closely with our clients and their advisors, including trust officers, accountants and financial advisors. We counsel our clients on their fiduciary responsibilities and how to avoid conflict and liability in their actions.

Conservatorship

When an individual becomes incapacitated and can no longer manage his or her financial affairs, family members or other concerned individuals can ask the court to protect the incapacitated individual and appoint a conservator. Our conservatorship services include initiation of Conservatorship proceedings for adults, preparation of biennial accounts and reports to the court, and continued representation of conservators and other interested persons for the duration of these matters. The Ryan Law Firm represents clients in a variety of Conservatorship actions:

• Contesting the validity of the conservatorship (fraud, duress, undue influence, coercion, Lack of Capacity)
• Contesting the appointment of a particular conservator
• Representing conservators
• Accounting of conservatorship finances
• Breach of a fiduciary duty; and Conservatorship mismanagement.

We also handle Conservatorship litigation which requires knowledge of both conservatorship law and litigation trial techniques.
